Simulations of the Black Hole in the well Received Movie "Interstellar" Leads to New Scientific Discoveries

The filming of the movie Interstellar might have just helped scientists understand black holes a little better through art's most bastardized genre- science fiction. Using computer programs to simulate the appearance of coming close to a black hole (as in the movie), Double Negative (production company) and Kip Thorne (a theoretical physicist) created a computer program to create the image seen when coming across a black hole. When one comes into contact with a black hole, time and space are altered by the swirling vortex which sucks everything in around it, including space and time. 

The computer code tracked millions of beams of light and their changing cross-sections as they went through the black hole, interpreting the change and creating a visual image from it. Measuring this, they were able to replicate the altered image one would experience standing right outside a black hole, but with none of the dangers of being sucked into one!

4-D Stars and Their Creation of the Universe

Scientists at Ludwig Maximilian University have recently come out with a new idea on how the Universe was formed, instead of a big bang, completely contradicting my last blog post. Their new theory on the formation of the Universe is directly linked to the intersection of a 4-D star, and a black hole. These scientists speculate through numerous simulations that this intersection of this new singularity. The idea that our universe contains four dimensions, but only seems to represent three, meaning that then energies of the universe i.e. stars, could be stretched in another dimension while going through the supernova, creating what we know as a black hole. Only this black hole would be a 4-D black hole like the star it came from. Just writing this blog makes my mind spin, and I am sure that I do not explain it well, but the main idea is that researchers have discovered a unique interaction when the sun goes through the singularity creating a round sphere encompassing the event horizon,eventually evening out in its creation of a 3-D (actually 4-D) world.

Gravitational Wave Indicates Alternate Universes

Gravitational Waves have been a known factor of the Universe since the 1970s, when first discovered by Alan Guth, but their existence had been debated until last year when scientists that had reported seeing the Big Bang and confirmed Guth's theory called "inflation". This confirmation of Guth's theory means that it is entirely possible that there are other Universes outside our own. These gravitational waves are ripples in space time, and were created by the Big Bang it seems. Guth believed that these ripples would cause different parts of our Universe, which is incredibly dense with elements in some places, to expand and change at different rates. This means that some places would be cut off from each other because of these ripples in space and time creating "bubble universes". Almost every source of evidence leads to the theory of the Multiverse, and a greater comprehension of our existence.

Lost in Time

The Universe is a wonderful and mysterious place for humans to examine. One idea that almost everyone entertains is the idea of a foreign people from another planet, galaxy, or universe to come to Earth. Humans love the idea of a foreign presence out there in space, showing that we are not alone in reality. In this case, a man was documented trying to enter Tokyo with a passport from a country named Taured. He claimed that he was there on business and has done so many times before. His passport had stamps revealing that he had in fact been to Japan before despite their records of never admitting him, and the company he was supposedly working with had never heard of him. He spoke multiple languages and pointed his country out on the map where the Principal of Andorra is located. This threw the Japanese government into a frenzy and he was sent to a hotel to be guarded by two officers. The next day when his room was checked, he had disappeared without a trace never to be seen again. This raises the question of weather there are alternate realities in the world, or this could possible just be another tale told to pull the wool over the eyes of the gullible. Whatever the truth is though, it sure makes for interesting theories on life and the Universe.
